What is Inclusive Employment Australia?

Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) is the new name for Disability Employment Services (DES).

It’s a nationwide employment program designed to support Australians with a disability, injury, or health condition to prepare for work, find a job, and succeed in long‑term employment.

If you’re eligible, we work closely with you to tailor support that fits your individual needs. This can include help with:

  • preparing to enter or re‑enter the workforce
  • developing specific job skills or training
  • writing resumes and job applications
  • improving interview confidence and techniques
  • searching for meaningful and suitable employment
  • connecting with local employers
  • accessing health and community support services

Once you start work, we may also provide assistance with:

  • on‑the‑job training and coaching
  • communicating with your employer and colleagues
  • ongoing workplace support
  • arranging workplace modifications if needed

Am I eligible for Inclusive Employment Australia?

You may be eligible for Inclusive Employment Australia if you are looking for work and are:

  • living with disability, injury or health condition
  • an Australian resident aged from 14 to 67
  • an Australian resident, or have an eligible visa
